Can BHRT Help to Prevent Bone Loss?

Osteoporosis is an age-related degenerative disease marked by progressively weak and brittle bones. Left untreated, this condition can result in bone fractures, which may be debilitating depending on their location. Hip fractures are extremely common in people with osteoporosis and often follow falls. Spinal cord fractures are common as well and may occur even without trauma.

Osteoporosis is more common in women. It is estimated that up to 80% of people with the condition are female. It is more likely to occur in women who have low calcium intake and in those with a family history of osteoporosis. People with smaller body frames may also be more likely to develop osteoporosis as their bones tend to have less mass from which to draw as they age.

Osteoporosis may be marked by back pain, stooped posture, and continuing loss of height. The increased fragility of the bones with this condition also makes breaks and fractures common symptoms. For patients with a family history of the condition or who have been diagnosed with calcium deficiency, it is a good idea to speak with a doctor about mitigation and treatment options before more serious symptoms occur.

BHRT and Osteoporosis

BHRT has been shown to effectively reduce the risk of fractures in people with osteoporosis. Several studies have now found that hormone replacement therapy may also work to increase bone density, helping to reverse the condition entirely.

In addition to reducing the risks of osteoporosis, BHRT can help to decrease overall body mass, improve sex drive, eliminate vaginal dryness, and reduce night sweats. BHRT is also able to reduce the symptoms of menopause, including hot flashes.

There are several options for BHRT administration, including injections, topical creams and patches, and oral medications, but none are as effective as pellets. Placed underneath the skin, BHRT pellets closely mirror the body’s own hormone delivery, making them the most reliable and effective option on the market today.

Not all pellet delivery systems are equal. Our patented Re3® Advanced Pellet Delivery System for Men & Women is designed to improve patient comfort and outcomes, reduce risks, and speed results.
