Naltrexone for Weight Loss

Naltrexone is an opiate antagonist that reduces the positive feelings associated with food reward in the brain. It is incredibly useful for patients attempting to lose weight.

Safe and non-habit forming, Naltrexone has also been shown to help repair the gut and brain barriers responsible for preventing the absorption of foreign substances*, improve gut microbiome**, and balance stress hormones***, all of which have a positive impact on individuals engaged in active weight loss efforts.****

Naltrexone is commonly prescribed as an oral medication. In pill form, it is taken twice daily. This places a burden on the patient to remember specific dosing times. One or two missed doses will not necessarily impact patient outcomes, but consistently missing doses can reduce the medication’s efficacy. For optimal patient comfort and convenience, pellet insertion of Naltrexone is a better option.

Our Naltrexone Pellet Delivery System

Pellecome® has created implantable Naltrexone pellets that slowly release the medication for two to three months. Pellet therapy helps to ensure consistent and predictable dosing, allowing you to help your patients achieve more reliable outcomes.

The Pellecome Re3® Advanced Pellet Delivery System further improves patient comfort and outcomes through superior design and optimal ease of use. With its ergonomically designed insertion tool, our pellet delivery system helps to ensure Naltrexone pellets are deposited at precisely the correct depth and location in a linear retrograde fashion to help prevent pellet bunching and ensure the consistent release of the medication. In addition, our advanced pellet insertion system reduces the risk of bruising, swelling, and post-insertion discomfort, making it an ideal service to add to your office’s medical weight-loss treatment options.

Combining Naltrexone with BHRT

Naltrexone works exceptionally well in combination with BHRT. Our BHRT and Naltrexone pellets can be used simultaneously to stimulate the best patient response.

BHRT assists with weight loss by balancing hormones, which can improve:

  • Sleep quality
  • Metabolic response
  • Energy levels

BHRT can also assist in restoring muscle mass, reducing oxidative stress, improving bone density, and addressing other issues that often accompany excessive weight gain. Particularly when combined with a healthy diet and exercise, a BHRT/Naltrexone treatment program can prove incredibly useful for patients who have struggled to maintain a healthy weight.
